Sales Executive Responsibilities:

Responsibility as a sales representative will differ and depends, whether you are working in B2B or B2C sales type.

In B2B sales, your responsibility is to:

  • Build a healthy working and maintain a relationship with the potential customer.
  • Conduct market research to understand and evaluate clients need.
  • Research and analyze the market and related products.
  • Prepare, show and deliver products and services in a structure professional way.

In B2C sales, you must:

  • Understand customer needs and to identify selling prospect.
  • It is your prime duty to maintain and develop a relationship with the customer in person or via different modes of communication like telephone communication or emails conversation, etc.
  • Arrange a meeting with potential clients by doing a distant call, networking and social media to establish a new business.
  • Respond to enquiries coming via emails or call.
  • Serve as a bridge or link between your company and existing or potential customers.
  • Able to negotiate the terms of an agreement to close sales.
  • Collect customer and market information.
  • Overcome objections and challenges to enhance the possibility that customer will buy your product or services.
  • Stay updated on the latest market trends, industry activities and a competitor to identify new products and also for product improvement.
  • Prepare detailed proposal documents dictated by the potential client.
  • Prepare accurate cost calculations and send a quotation to the client.
  • Check the availability of stock for display and sales.

A requirement for both roles:

  • You should be able to negotiate the package cost, delivery of products, and specifications with the manager and the customers or buyers.
  • To coordinate with suppliers to monitor the progress of existing orders.
  • Maintain the records of sales and order.
  • Attend trade exhibitions, conferences, sales educational events, seminars and meetings to represent the company.
  • To meet the target, review your performance.
  • Attend team meeting, liaise with team members and share best practice with your colleagues to achieve better results.

Work Hours and Benefits:

Working hours may vary, depending on the industry type or according to customers schedule and requirement. Therefore, a sales exec is mentally prepared, working for a flexible workweek structure and lots of travelling.

Travelling is a part of sales executive jobs as he has to meet the requirement set by the company. So he has to a lot both within the home city and around the outstation locations. Thus this travelling increases the working hours and makes it long and erratic.
